Empowering Widowed Women: Evonith’s Livelihood Development Initiative

As part of our People First initiative at Evonith, we are committed to empowering individuals in our community and helping them achieve financial independence. We recognized the need to support widowed women from the neighbouring villages around Evonith Steel Complex in Wardha, and thus, we introduced a women’s livelihood development initiative that has brought about remarkable change.

Through this initiative, we provided livestock to ten widowed women, enabling them to embark on a journey toward self-sufficiency. Each unit consisted of three female goats and one male goat, offering these women an opportunity to either sell milk or meat and generate income for themselves and their families.

The impact of this initiative has been truly inspiring:

The financial status of each widow has significantly improved, with an average increase of 2000 Rupees in their monthly income. This upliftment has empowered them to meet their financial needs and support their households with greater ease.

By extending a helping hand and offering these widowed women the means to become economically independent, we are fostering a sense of empowerment and resilience within our community.

Join us as we continue our People First initiative and strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.
